In “Food: A History”, historian Felipe Fernandez-Armesto wrote “I eat therefore I am. People recognizethe whole world through the dinner table,the food on the plate reveals the secret of human history.
Food stories not only relate to culinary subjects but also connect to the culture.” Artists develop selfconsciousness, and expand their observation of the environment during art production. In the exhibition “Open Kitchen”, artists have chosen food and diet as the art subjects to create a common language between different races,
as well as the personal link between individuals. “Open Kitchen” welcomes theviewer to share artists’ stories, and the opportunity through food to experience a multicultural view of the world.
Fifteen artists from Asian, American, and Latin American backgrounds, present their experience of food and world cuisine.
